Anger Management Information
Why not have anger, a universal emotion, be something that works FOR you in your
life, instead of AGAINST you?
Have anger
enhance your relationships
instead of
crushing them.
TDC is 2 classes, each lasting 3-3.5 hours. There will be helpful
instruction by trained therapists. Information will be reinforced
with the manual. You can expect to be involved in lively discussion
between participants about how to handle anger.
Active participation is
encouraged and expected and will make the classes interesting and
engaging for all. That might sound a little intimidating...it isn't meant to be. You are welcome to contribute in a way that is comfortable for you. It's the discussion that makes it interesting.
Class size is limited to 8 people.
Big enough that the focus isn't on you.
Small enough that you and others can feel comfortable providing input. This is what makes things interesting
A detailed
list
of objectives is available.
At the end of the full 6 hours of attendance, a certificate of
attendance will be issued. In the event of missing a class, the full
class will have to be repeated to receive a certificate of completion.
Anger: An Experience and an Expression
Week 1 focuses on the experience
Week 2 focuses on the expression
Anger can be like the wind; fire; or a horse.
Described as such, it can be an experience to be controlled, but also as energy to achieve one’s goals:
Out of control, the wind/fire/horse is a destructive force.
Under control, the wind/fire/horse is a useful tool.
These associations shed light on how our anger can be transformative, rather than destructive.
One person has said,
“Holding onto anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.”
Anger management is a therapeutic intervention that seeks to both diminish the distress associated with the experience and channel the energy in self-affirming and socially appropriate ways.
Anger that is unbridled and destructive has severe consequences for our psychological, social, and even our physical wellbeing.
Yet, anger that is controlled and channeled grant one the opportunity to make use of this mistaken emotion as a means toward life-affirming ends.

The lowdown on TDC Group Program:
Regular registration is $200.00. By registering greater than 2 weeks in advance, you are eligible for an early bird discount, which means registration is only $175.00
It is normal to have some misgivings about attending the class...with other tasks that could occur that evening seeming very important. Although at times circumstances make attendance impossible, we encourage you to follow through on attending, even if you have "second thoughts".
With cancellation more than 1 week prior to the class, the fee minus a $50.00 processing fee is returned.
No refund available for cancellation in the week prior to the first class. However, you can use 50% of the payment towards a future class if we are notified greater than 24 hours prior to the first class. Your payment reserves a place for you in the class, which we are unable to fill on short notice.
If a registrant does not attend the first class, attendance at the second class is not permitted secondary to continuity issues for the rest of the group.
Please arrive 5 or 10 minutes early...latecomers will find the door locked...and as Roshonna will be in the workshop with the other attenders, she is not available to answer the door. Please note that if you are late and not admitted, you will not receive a refund or the certificate. We seek to be respectful of those that arrive on time, and not to waste their time with disruptions and needing to repeat essential information that is given at the beginning of each class.
You can register via phoning Melanie at 275-1045, emailing via our
TDC online registration process, or completing the form as provided above and faxing it to us at 475-7553.
