Counsellors
The counsellors at Bergen & Associates Counselling have Master's Degrees in Marriage and Family Therapy or Counselling/Psychology. We all belong to a professional association, the
American Associates of Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT) or Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association and adhere to that association's
code of ethics. We come from a variety of backgrounds including family studies, education, theology and occupational therapy. We have each developed special areas of interest and experience. There are therapists who have expertise in working with couples in crisis, therapeutic play with children, adolescents, or individuals who are struggling. We are also human beings, with experience being spouses, parents, friends, co-workers and are people who have struggled with loss and pain. When you call for an appointment, the receptionist will ask you about your specific reason for coming to counselling, to help us match you with the therapist who is likely to be the best "fit".
Bergen & Associates Counselling has a presence on a number of other websites which have information about counselling which may be helpful, including
Psychology Today and
The Family and Marriage Counselling Directory.
